Changes to Gas Oil

Important specification changes to Gas Oil

On 1 January 2011, the sulphur levels for Gas Oil will be further reduced. As a result, the new spec Gas Oil will contain up to a maximum of 7% BioDiesel. For most users, this will have no effect at all. However, users storing Gas Oil over long periods (ie standby generator tanks) may find that bacterial growth may occur in the tanks over time.

Two documents are avaliable from the department of transport regarding this issue and are avaliable to download from the following links:

RETFORD BASED HEDLEY FUEL JOIN CHANDLERS

Chandlers acquired the Hedley fuel business this week including the offices and depot at Retford. This is great news: existing customers in Nottinghamshire can now expect a much enhanced delivery service and far shorter waiting times.

Hedleys had been in existence for over 30 years and geographically was a perfect fit for Chandlers with a great deal of customers in North Notts and West Lincolnshire.

The depot at Retford will store gas oil, derv and burning oil which are Chandlers three main products as well as the full range of lubricants.

Domestic and farming customers can now look forward to a winter with a much better service.
